Vue.js Developer interview question · Most asked
Vue or React: how would you compare them?
Summary
Both are mature, component-based libraries with large ecosystems. Vue uses HTML-like templates compiled with optimisation hints, fine-grained reactivity (mutate state, Vue tracks dependencies) and official solutions for routing and state. React uses JSX, immutable state updates with re-rendering from the changed component down, and a larger, more fragmented ecosystem with many third-party choices.
Longer Answer
Practical differences: Vue needs less manual memoisation and has a gentler learning curve for people from HTML/CSS backgrounds; React has a bigger job market and ecosystem, React Native for mobile, and server components in frameworks like Next.js. Both are excellent; team experience, hiring and the surrounding stack (Nuxt vs Next.js, Laravel + Inertia supports both) usually decide.
Key Points
- Templates + reactivity vs JSX + immutable updates.
- Official tooling vs larger ecosystem.
- Less manual memoisation in Vue.
- Team and ecosystem decide.
Explanation
What interviewers look for
