Cookie Policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage that ReadyCamel uses. We use cookies that are needed for the site to work, to keep you signed in and to remember choices you make. Only if you accept, we also use Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. "Local storage" is a similar feature that lets a site keep small pieces of data in your browser; unlike cookies, it is not sent to the server with every request. Both stay on your device until they expire or you clear them.

Cookies we set

NamePurposeTypeExpires
gr_themeRemembers whether you chose light, dark or system appearance, so pages load in the right colours without a flash.Functional (your choice)1 year
gr_sessionA marker (value "1", no identifier) telling public pages that you are signed in, so links can take you straight to your account. It contains no personal data.Strictly necessary30 days, or when you sign out
gr_consentRemembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don't ask again on every page.Strictly necessary6 months

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

If you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics, which sets the cookies below to count visits and see how pages are used (for example which tutorials are popular and where people leave). We use this only in aggregate to improve the site. If you click "Reject", or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and these cookies are not set.

NamePurposeProviderExpires
_gaDistinguishes visitors with a random identifier.Google Analytics2 years
_ga_7VZ4SE97LGKeeps the state of your current visit (session).Google Analytics2 years

See how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies set by our providers

Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the site, may set security cookies such as __cf_bm (bot management, 30 minutes) or cf_clearance (after a security check). These are strictly necessary to protect the site from abuse and are not used for tracking. See Cloudflare's cookie policy.

Google Fonts serves the fonts used on the site. Google does not set cookies for this, but your browser connects to Google's servers to download the fonts (see the Privacy Policy).

Browser storage we use

KeyPurposeType
access_token, refresh_tokenKeep you signed in to your account. Removed when you sign out.Strictly necessary

getready:code-lang, getready:coding-langThe programming language you last picked for code examples and coding problems.Functional
getready:stream-content, getready:sentence-focusYour reading preferences for lessons.Functional
getready:recent-searchesYour recent searches, shown as suggestions. Stored only in your browser and never sent to us as a history.Functional

How to control them

You can change your analytics choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer or the button at the top of this page. Rejecting after accepting removes the analytics cookies.

You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings, and block cookies for this site. If you block strictly necessary cookies or storage, you will not be able to stay signed in, and the site will forget your appearance and layout choices. Your learning progress is stored in your account, not in your browser, so it is not lost when you clear browser data.

Changes

If we add cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
