Team Lead interview question · Most asked
What would you do in your first 30 days as a new team lead?
Summary
Listen and learn: 1:1s with each team member, the manager, product and key partners; review the team's metrics, incidents and backlog; observe the team's rituals; then share back what I heard and agree two or three priorities with my manager.
Longer Answer
I'd keep existing commitments moving, avoid big changes, and look for one quick, visible improvement the team wants. I'd also set up regular 1:1s and agree how I'll work with the tech lead and product manager. At day 30 I'd ask my manager and team for feedback on how I'm doing.
